2017-2018 FALL TERM GRADUATE SCHOOL ADMISSIONS

 

Students who have been successful in the entrance exams are given below. The registrations are going to be done at our Institute on weekdays between 05-10 July 2017

DIPLOMA

-For Master's applications, the original Bachelor’s degree diploma is required. 

-In order for doctoral program applications to be evaluated as in-field application, the original Bachelor’s and Master’s degree diplomas are required (if the Master’s degree program that has been graduated from is in the same field as the doctoral program that the candidate would like to apply to, they do not have to submit the Bachelor’s degree diploma. Although the Master's degree is of another department, if the Bachelor's degree is the same as the Ph.D. department that is being applied to, then the application is considered as in-field and the original Bachelor's degree diploma must be submitted).

-Candidates who are registered to another university can apply with an approved copy of their Bachelor’s diploma, which will be given by that university.

-Candidates who have graduated from a university abroad must have their diploma equivalence by the Council of Higher Education. Click here for the required documents announced by YÖK.

 

TRANSCRIPT

-The original transcript.

-If the 4 point system is used by the university you have graduated from (if letters are used instead of numerals), you must your GPA out of 4. The conversion of the 4 point system to 100 point system of your university is not accepted. YOK (Higher Education Council) conversion system will be used to convert the 100 point system GPA to 4 point system GPA.

           

ALES (or GRE)

-Candidates who will apply to Master’s and Doctoral degree programs with thesis must have a minimum 55 of the related score type, or they must have an equivalent to the score of an exam which is accepted by the Senate.

-Candidates who will apply to non-thesis programs must have an ALES document.

-An ALES or its equivalence exam score is valid for three years starting from the date the exam was taken.

-Any graduate program applications of candidates who do not have the minimum ALES (or an equivalence) score will not be accepted.

           

 

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

 

                  Doctoral Degree Applications:

 

-In order for a candidate to prove their English proficiency for a Turkish-medium (or 30% English-medium) program, they must have a minimum 55 of central YDS (Foreign Language Exam) or an international equivalence which is accepted by ÖSYM. For fully English programs, candidates must have minimum 60 YDS.

- Yildiz-SEM's proficiency test is not accepted for Ph.D. applications.

 

 

 

 

 

                  Master's Degree Applications:

 

In order for a candidate to prove their English proficiency one of the conditions below must be met:

-for Turkish non-thesis Master’s degree programs, English proficiency is not required;

 

-for English non-thesis Master’s degree programs,  they must have a minimum 50 of central YDS (Foreign Language Exam), or an equivalence which is accepted by Interuniversity Council, or a minimum 50 of YDS equivalence which is determined by the ÖSYM and approved by the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK).

 

-for English-medium Master's degree programs, Yıldız-SEM English Proficiency certificate is not valid.

 

 

TURKISH PROFICIENCY

 

- International students are required to submit a Turkish proficiency certificate when applying to graduate programs. The level of the certificate must be minimum C1 and be given by a language center of one of the state universities in Turkey or by a Yunus Emre Institute.

 

- International students who will be accepted to an English-medium program are required to submit a minimum (B1) level Turkish proficiency certificate during their study. 

 
 
 
 
 

Period of validity of the scores:

 

-Yildiz Sem Certificate is valid for 3 (three) years. 

 

-KPDS, ÜDS, YDS, e-YDS test scores are valid for 5 years starting from the test date.

 

-According to the announcement of the OSYM on February 14, 2014, an IELTS score taken after March 14, 2014, is not accepted. 

 

-The validity of other tests whose equivalence is accepted by the ÖSYM is based on the period given by the related Institute. However, the validity of other tests can be maximum three years.

RECEIPT OF THE TUITION FEE PAYMENT
 
The receipt of the tuition fee is required.
